Insight report from Development Partnership Forum in South Yorkshire
On 24 September 2024, members of The Housing Forum joined colleagues from Rotherham and Sheffield Councils together with South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) at Rotherham Town Hall. The DPF was followed by a walking tour of Forge Island- the newly completed landmark leisure destination - and of several newly completed Council-led housing developments in the town centre.

The Roadmap to 1.5 million new homes – what does the government need to do and when?
The road map presents a timeline of policy change and funding needed for the housing sector to meet the government’s ambitious housing goal of 1.5 million homes. It highlights the need to deliver ambitious planning reform, including properly resourcing the planning system, reviewing green belt land particularly around London, and funding infrastructure and regeneration on brownfield sites.
