The Housing Forum responds to technical guidance released on second staircases
The Housing Forum welcomes the long-awaited technical guidance on second staircases in tall buildings. The consultation on this guidance was released in December 2022, and the delay in publishing the response and technical guidance has led to uncertainty across the housing sector. We have been aware of many sites that have stalled because of the lack of information around what exactly is required (such as the maximum distance permitted between flat entrances and the staircases) . We raised these concerns previously on behalf of our members across the housing sector.

The Housing Forum responds to the Future Homes Standard Consultation
Today (26 March) The Housing Forum has responded to the Government's Future Homes Standard Consultation. The Consultation was launched by the Department for Levelling Up, Communities and Housing to gather the views of the housing sector on the upcoming changes to building regulations to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment.
