Today’s chair Graham Sibley, NHBC, reported that there is higher interest than ever in MMC housing particularly in its design and manufacture and Covid led responses are pushing up output. Housing Ministers have been strong advocates and Mark Farmer is MHCLG Champion for MMC. Homes England are encouraging MMC on several of their sites. In the private sector, L&G and Goldman Sachs are investing in manufacturing and in the affordable housing sector, ilke and Places for People are working together on MMC developments.
The Housing Forum’s timely guide “MMC for affordable housing developers” September 2019, set out to focus on enabling MMC through planning, design, robust manufacturing, insurance, production controls and recognised warranties.
