Fourth in the Spotlight series, the toolkit demonstrates how DfMA methods and technologies can be used in practice as a solution to the housing crisis, advance the uptake of off-site manufactured processes and bring the benefits of design standardisation to the construction sector. The DfMA toolkit has been developed by COLAB, an interdisciplinary consortium of L&Q, Hawkins\Brown, HTA Design and Virtual Viewing and has funding from UKRI.
Toolkit features include the MMC product portfolio storing and managing apartment and house types and digital 3D models which can be viewed in greater detail and by specific elements. Client specific geolocation data for standard MMC components and the supply chain within a specific radius of a given postcode. An interactive DfMA Design guide to upskill the industry and promote collaboration across multiple disciplines and supply chain. A showcase of Business Intelligence data, metrics and analytics to inform strategic decision-making across multiple projects.
The toolkit will be available from Q4 2021.
