Nahim Ruhi-Khan is Head of Strategy and Investment – Public Sector at Leeds City Council
Nahim is an experienced housing practitioner with over 25 years’ experience of working passionately to deliver improvements in the public sector. Nahim is currently responsible for the planning and delivery of significant capital investment programme to the housing estate including over 54,000 homes. Her previous experience includes delivering a range of property management functions to the housing estate and a diverse range of non- housing assets forming part of an extensive, corporate civic estate.
Between 2014-2107 – Nahim led on the delivery of a large scale housing regeneration project. This flagship project included new- build housing, major refurbishment to existing homes and significant environmental improvements – the combination of which delivered transformational change for communities in several priority neighbourhood areas.
Prior to this Nahim has worked in collaboration with health, social care and voluntary sector partners to commission housing support services for vulnerable adults. Throughout her career she has remained committed to services for homeless people and her role as Non-executive Director for BME specialist housing provider enables her to deliver her commitment to improving housing services to BME communities.
