HG Construction is a Top 100 UK design and build contractor and Tier 2 National Main Contractor, with over 25 years’ experience delivering complex schemes throughout the UK. HG operates established teams across the South, North and Midlands, with offices in Hitchin, London and Leeds, and an offsite manufacturing facility in Hull. This structure gives HG genuine nationwide coverage combined with local delivery expertise, with live and completed projects spanning London, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Colchester, Loughborough, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

At the heart of HG’s approach is a self-delivery model that keeps key trades in-house, including offsite manufacturing (bathroom and utility pods), M&E, cranes, piling, concrete frames and drylining. This direct control over sequencing, quality and cost gives clients greater programme certainty, particularly on complex or fast-track schemes. It’s supported by HG Vision, HG’s own technology platform built specifically for how the business delivers, providing real-time visibility that helps keep projects on time and clients informed at every stage.

Affordable and public sector housing is a growing strategic priority for HG, underpinned by a strong and growing track record with housing association and public sector partners. Recent schemes include 55 West with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing in Ealing, Brooke House with Women’s Pioneer Housing and L&Q Housing in Acton (102 affordable homes for vulnerable women), Trocoll House with Be First, and, for Southern Housing, Glengall Rise in Southwark, London, alongside schemes in Free Wharf, Shoreham-by-Sea and The Mannings on the South Coast. HG is also delivering through the Notting Hill Genesis and Sovereign Network Group (SNG) frameworks, reflecting its growing presence across housing association and public sector procurement routes.

This momentum is reflected in the recent appointment of Neil Brooks as Director of Affordable Homes and Public Sector, a move that builds on HG’s established delivery experience across residential, Build to Rent, student accommodation, later living, hotel and commercial schemes for a range of public and private sector clients. HG is actively growing its work with housing associations and local authorities, and building relationships across public sector frameworks as part of this expansion.

Membership of The Housing Forum supports HG’s ambition to deepen its engagement with housing associations, councils and the wider affordable housing sector, and to contribute to the industry conversation on delivering high-quality, well-managed affordable homes at scale.
