Gillian Douglas will take on the role in September

THF member Lewisham Council has appointed a new executive director of housing. Gillian Douglas will join in September, one month before Lewisham Homes (the local authority’s arm’s-length housing management services) transfers back under the direct control of the council.

Lewisham Homes manages 20,000 homes on behalf of the council. Last December, the mayor and cabinet voted in favour of returning the services to direct management to help the authority deal with legislative changes and rising costs, and to help boost tenant satisfaction.

Ms Douglas said: “I’m excited to be joining Lewisham at this important stage. It’s a privilege to be able to shape this new directorate, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues from Lewisham Homes and Lewisham Council to deliver the best services for residents.”
