Town and Country Housing Group

At Town and Country Housing Group we have a strong commitment to providing good quality housing, excellent customer service, supporting and developing vibrant communities and combating social exclusion. We are committed to developing a positive approach to customer service, where the views and needs of residents are at the heart of everything we do. We provide more than 8,400 affordable homes in 22 local authority areas in Kent, Sussex, Surrey and South London.

In addition to general needs homes, we offer a wide range of housing, including key worker, shared ownership and specialist accommodation including a women's refuge, housing for people with learning and physical disabilities, and a hostel for ex-offenders. We pride ourselves on working flexibly with partners to meet the needs of our local communities in both urban and rural areas.

Over the years we have invested heavily in our homes, and continue to do so as part of our Asset Management Strategy, with the result that we were 100% compliant with the Government's Decent Homes Standard in 2010.

Our commitment to staff is reflected in our Investors in People status and in the 'One to Watch' grade we achieved in the 2011 Best Companies survey.

Our low-carbon ‘demonstration house’ in Hawkhurst caught the judges’ eye in the ‘Innovation’ section of the prestigious West Kent Business Excellence Awards.

We are a founder and core group member of the South East Consortium, a procurement group of 16 housing associations and councils covering more than 100,000 properties. This boosts our buying power and helps us to achieve significant reductions by adopting good practice in the procurement of goods and services.

Town and Country Housing Group is a Charitable Industrial & Provident Society registered with the Financial Services Authority.

Why we joined the Housing Forum

Excellent, very well managed consultation and research events bringing networking and knowledge sharing opportunities on best practice. The Forum gives us a stronger voice within and without the industry.
