Cross Street

Cross Street South in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton is a new build housing scheme providing 30 homes for rent comprising of 27, two-bedroomed flats and 3, four-bedroomed houses. Wolverhampton City Council, the owner of the site, sought a Housing Association partner to develop a highly sustainable and innovative housing scheme.

This project was part of the Construction Legacy - London programme which sought to map approaches to the delivery of training and apprenticeships in the housing and regeneration sectors. The Housing Forum programme worked with 11 active Demonstration Projects from within the five Olympic boroughs. It offers a zero carbon solution to heating and hot water production and demonstrates a way of improving the energy efficiency of solar hot water systems by up 33%.
